Trulli dei Pini

Cushioned in mature gardens, within walking distance to Cisternino, this well-equipped and very private villa in Puglia has four distinctive trullo cones, well-equipped outside kitchen, a solar heated pool, and is furnished in very attractive and comfortable country style.

Making the most of the Mediterranean climate, this lovely little trulli house is thoughtfully designed and very well equipped for indoor/outdoor living. A generously sized swimming pool is the focal point of the grounds, its poolside terrace punctuated with colourful flower beds and young palms, and backed by the clustered fruit trees of the villa's private orchard. A canopied dining terrace, well-equipped outside kitchen with barbecue and wood-burning pizza oven make al fresco lunches a delight, and there is table tennis and a utility / shower room in the garden too. There are many different seating areas in sun and shade in the gardens. The layout of the house itself is ideal for two families. In the characterful trulli section, there are two bedrooms, a living room and kitchenette opening out to a patio; and interconnecting doors link the historic building with the more recent part, with a further double and twin bedroom and a light and well-equipped open-plan kitchen/living room.
Enjoying very good privacy in its gated gardens, the villa is actually just 1.5km from shops and restaurants in the centre of Cisternino, reached on foot along the country lanes. An excellent restaurant Osteria Sant'Anna and a minor train station with connections to Lecce are closer. A 10km drive leads to a choice of sandy beaches and beach clubs, and Martina Franca, Ostuni and Alberobello are all within 20km.
This is a very comfortable property for adult groups and families alike and the owners ensure that your stay is as memorable as possible. Extensive enhancements for this season include three new bathrooms, refurbishment of the fourth bathroom, new outside furniture, new ceiling fan and wood burning stove for the kitchen/sitting room and other items.

We are in Cisternino

in the heart of the Itria Valley
Perched on the Murgia dei Trulli, Cisternino is one of Italy’s Most Beautiful Towns. Here you can wander around narrow streets paved with “chianche” (typical limestone paving stones) and feast on grilled meat at a “fornello pronto” (a butchers' shop with a dining area where the meat is cooked).

Facing onto the Itria Valley in an area known as the Murgia dei Trulli, Cisternino is 46 kilometres (28 miles) from Brindisi, near the Adriatic coast.

The Porta Grande (or Norman-Swabian) Tower, topped by a statue of San Nicola, is the main entrance to this, one of Italy’s Most Beautiful Towns.

Visit the old town centre and admire its many historical residences: the Governor’s Palace, a beautiful example of baroque architecture; the 16th century Bishop’s Palace; Palazzo Amati; Palazzo Lagravinese; and Palazzo Ricci-Capece with its Wind Tower.

A bit further on and you'll find the convent of Capuchin monks with the Church of Sant’Antonio, the Church of San Quirico, and the 16th century Chiesa Matrice (Mother Church), dedicated to San Nicola di Patara and constructed over the ruins of an earlier Paleo-Christian church.

On Easter Monday, the townspeople gather at the Sanctuary of the Madonna d’Ibernia, an archaeological site with Roman and medieval ruins. They bring with them “u chrruchl,” a sweet that's said to bring good luck and is shaped like a small bag with two hard-boiled eggs (for the men), or like a doll with an egg in its belly (for the women).
